Dorothy Skierkowski-Foster, PhD
Dr. Skierkowski-Foster, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist in Rhode Island. She completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rhode Island, her MA in General Psychology from Central Connecticut State University, and her BA in Anthropology and Psychology from the University of Connecticut. She also completed her clinical internship at the West Haven, CT VA and her post-doctoral fellowship in advanced quantitative methods in mental health and clinical neuroscience at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University. She specializes in using evidence-based strategies to improve mental health outcomes for patients with a wide range of mental health concerns.
She has experience providing treatment to individuals and groups across an array of settings, including private outpatient, community mental health, inpatient, partial hospitalization, and correctional facilities. In addition to individual treatment services, Shoreline CBT offers a range of group offerings. Current groups include: 1) mindfulness based stress reduction, 2) flourishing through perimenopause, and 3) mindful sports performance enhancement for athletes across sports disciplines. Nicole Weiss, PhD
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly two decades of experience delivering trauma-informed and evidence-based treatments in my work with individuals facing a wide range of problems, including anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress, substance use, and personality disorders. I have a special interest in working with individuals who have lived experiences of trauma. I have expertise in the delivery of evidence-based cognitive-behavioral and acceptance-based treatments, including Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Behavioral Activation.

I am passionate about helping people reduce their emotional suffering and create lives that are filled with meaning, purpose, and joy. My clinical style is a combination of validation, warmth, and humor balanced with problem-solving and skills-based strategies. I leverage best practices in evidence-based treatment, tailored specifically to address the unique concerns of each client, to help them effect lasting, meaningful change in their lives built on skills learned in treatment. I believe that my clients know themselves best, and I partner with them to help them identify and achieve their goals by drawing on their unique strengths and sources of resilience. ​

Nichea Spillane, PhD
I provide evidence-based treatments for individuals dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, substance use, and personality disorders, with a special focus on substance use. I specialize in cognitive-behavioral and acceptance-based therapies, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Positive Psychotherapy, Exposure Therapy, and Behavioral Activation.
My therapeutic approach combines warmth, humor, and validation with skills-based problem-solving. I work collaboratively with clients, tailoring evidence-based methods to help them achieve meaningful change based on their unique strengths and goals. I believe in creating a compassionate, non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe, accepted, and empowered to be their authentic selves.
In addition to my clinical work, I am an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Rhode Island, conducting NIH-funded research on interventions for substance use disorders. My research, teaching, and mentorship further my commitment to improving mental health treatment and staying current with best practices.

Heather Schatten, PhD
Dr. Heather Schatten is a licensed clinical psychologist and Director of DBT Services at Shoreline CBT. Dr. Schatten has a bachelor's degree from Bucknell University, a master's degree in psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University, and received her doctorate in clinical psychology at Fordham University. She completed her clinical internship and postdoctoral fellowship in the Brown Clinical Psychology Training Program.
Dr. Schatten has expertise in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which is an evidence-based treatment for chronic emotion dysregulation. At Shoreline, Dr. Schatten leads Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills Training Groups for adults (18 and older). She is committed to helping people create a "life worth living" by integrating skills into their daily lives.

Cara Murphy, PhD
Cara Murphy, PhD is a licensed clinical psychologist in Rhode Island. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Georgia. She completed her clinical residency at the Warren Alpert Medical School at Brown University and received advanced postdoctoral training at the Brown University Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies and The Miriam Hospital Center for Weight and Wellness.
At Shoreline CBT, Dr. Murphy helps clients explore their emotions and thoughts to better understand themselves, break free from unhelpful patterns, and make lasting, meaningful changes. Her approach focuses on building trust, understanding, and acceptance. In a supportive environment, she guides clients toward healing, personal growth, and achieving their goals.
Using evidence-based strategies, she works with adults of all ages facing challenges like anxiety, depression, substance use, weight management, and difficulty adjusting to change. Her goal is to help clients improve their quality of life by teaching coping skills and fostering wellness.

Justin Parent, PhD
​Dr. Justin Parent is a licensed child clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience helping children and families navigate emotional and behavioral challenges. He specializes in evidence-based, family-centered care for disruptive behavior, ADHD, anxiety, mood struggles, child sleep difficulties, and tics.
Dr. Parent believes that lasting change happens within the family system. His approach goes beyond individual treatment to actively involve parents and caregivers, equipping them with practical, research-backed strategies to support their child’s growth. With a compassionate, strengths-based approach, Dr. Parent tailors each intervention to fit the unique needs of the child and family, ensuring they feel supported every step of the way.

Ashley Letendre
Ashley has over 10 years of experience in behavioral health billing, previously employed in both private practice and outpatient facility settings. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Rhode Island College and earned a certificate in behavioral health coding through the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC). Ashley is the owner of Letendre Billing & Consulting LLC, and currently provides insurance billing services for Shoreline CBT.
Lizzie Olmsted, MA comes to Shoreline CBT with over 5 years of experience in Mental Health administration. Lizzie oversees daily operations of Shoreline CBT, ensuring all administrative processes run smoothly. Lizzie holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Development & Family Studies and Elementary Education from The University of Rhode Island, as well as a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University. Alongside her role as Practice Manager, Lizzie is also pursuing her clinical career as a Masters Level Clinical Mental Health Counselor.
